Injection Moulding Design
The Boddingtons plastic design team will produce products starting with anything from rough sketches to detailed drawings or electronic data. Introducing the team to this process at the earliest opportunity results in the highest quality products and reduces total acquisition cost.
Due to investment in sophisticated 3D software, all plastic designs can be evaluated at the concept stage. 3D Moldflow® analysis predicts the behaviour of plastic in the mould, enabling precise and effective tool design. These data files can also be used to automatically generate prototype and pre-production stereo lithography models.
The design team's experience with the wide range of materials available is invaluable in turning conceptual plastic designs into products which are not only totally "fit for purpose" but also aesthetically pleasing.
Moldflow
The Boddingtons technical team uses the Moldflow® software package with the objective of new tools being right first time and on time. This facilitates best economics and quality throughout the life of the part.
The Moldflow® analysis also enables us to identify moulding concerns on both new tools prior to design and to trouble shoot existing moulds to further improve both quality and productivity.
Another principle benefit of Moldflow® is the ability to produce complex family tools consisting of many dissimilar components which ensures a cost effective solution when our customers require a significant package of tools.
Moldflow® is able to analyse almost any 3d model and by utilising its extensive raw materials library it provides cost effective components and process capable tooling.
