Leading injection moulder and med-tech manufacturer Boddingtons travels to this year’s Medica Compamed exhibition, fresh from the company’s recent successes at the annual Plastics Industry Awards.
Boddingtons won the PIA Industrial Design award for the fourth occasion, this time for its leading edge work with Cytosystems on a radical new Bladder Cancer detection product – BladderLIght® – involving over thirty moulded components.
The full BladderLight® product development story will be on show at the Boddingtons booth in Hall 8, at the Düsseldorf based trade fair, November 18-21.
The company’s £4.6m manufacturing facility – incorporating a modular Class 7 cleanroom – was launched by Lord Digby Jones at the end of 2016 and is now undergoing further investment and development. Thanks to customer demand from the international medical industries a 2nd Class 7 cleanroom is currently being built at Boddingtons and will be commissioned in January 2020.
Boddingtons CEO Andy Tibbs says that ‘in terms of recognition and achievement our business is currently enjoying a purple patch; proving our status time and again as one of the world’s leading contractors for medical manufacturing services.’
Boddingtons will use Compamed 2019 to show off its recent successful manufacturing competences in the med-tech sphere. Customers such as Meditech Endoscopy will be present at the Boddingtons to help show visitors the design-for-manufacture process at the company.
The recent Cytosystems project success shows that multi-part medical assemblies are a speciality at Boddingtons, as are cutting-edge moulding developments in biosciences and genetics.
Andy Tibbs, notes that ‘every year sees something different for us at this show. Compamed 2019 will be our fourth successive exhibition and will greatly help us communicate our messages to the Class 1 and 2 medical device communities.’
Tibbs adds that ‘Boddingtons is also in on the ground floor with the new international MDSAP quality approval qualification. We look forward to expanding our global market business via this year’s Compamed exhibition.’
As well as Class 7 cleanroom manufacture Boddingtons includes all facets of injection moulding from design to packed products; finishing and assembly processes, printing, welding, packing, labeling and finishing.
