Award-winning plastics injection moulding manufacturer, Boddingtons, visited the triennial USA plastics exhibition, NPE 2018, last month in Orlando, Florida.

Andy Tibbs, CEO, and Paul Bowles, Operations Director, visited the show on a plastics technology fact-finding mission; assessing new technical developments and making new business contacts in the US industry.

Tibbs noted that ‘this was a very fruitful visit with much plastics technology to think about and adapt. US manufacturing is investing heavily in automation and the Smart Factory. The US med-tech industry is key to the commercial ambitions of Boddingtons and our Class 7 cleanroom supply capability.

It therefore made perfect sense for us to assess the US state of manufacturing supply and the latest innovations in the market.’

This year’s NPE exhibition has been the largest in its history, with more than 2,180 exhibiting companies showcasing innovations in plastics in more than 1.2 million square feet of exhibition space. Twelve plastic technology zones were featured – five of which were new – together with nine education programs.

Managing Director Andy Tibbs said that ‘it was very pleasing to meet so many friends, old and new, and to take home so many new ideas and opportunities for development.’

Boddingtons will itself be next exhibiting in November 2018. The company’s med-tech supply capabilities will be shown at the annual Medica Compamed exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany, November 12-15, 2018.
