Kent-based Boddingtons opens its new £4.6m state-of-the-art injection moulding plant on the morning of Tuesday November 1st.
At 12.15pm former Government Minister and CBI Director General, Lord Digby Jones will formally declare the new factory open for business. Over one hundred guests are expected to join Boddingtons management and staff in celebration and activities through the day.
Demand for the new Class 7 Clean Room manufacturing services is expected to be immediate. A portion of the afternoon of November 1st has therefore been set aside for one-to-one tours and meetings with customers, designers and product specifiers.
Managing Director, Andy Tibbs says that ‘our new factory keeps our commercial ambitions firmly on track by effectively doubling our manufacturing footprint.’
Some 15% of the new Boddingtons floor space will initially be used as modular Class 7 cleanroom manufacturing. The two factories will work in parallel, separated by 100 yards and thus offering full ‘risk mitigation’ for the most demanding customers in technical and medical sectors.
The Class 7 cleanroom – seen here from the end of the manufacturing hall – is already attracting high demand from medical device manufacturers
The advanced moulding environment includes; expandable Class 7 cleanrooms, reducing bioburdens and particulates; white room(s) with less fibres and contiminants, disaster recovery safeguards and many other customer benefits.
The new facility has been built to the highest standards and will offer improved disabled access; new canteen and meeting facilities, customised computer, communications and server facilities, hardware and software, daylight lighting, ergonomic systems of building control and energy efficiency and many other features.
Tibbs says that ‘from the outset we envisaged nothing less than a state-of-the-art operation in order to further grow our business and welcome in new clients – from blue chip OEMs to start up product innovators.
I am pleased to say that the quality of the design and build has exceeded our expectations. We now offer manufacturing services and a moulding destination that can cater to the best customers in the world. We are really looking forward to our big day on November 1st.’
Boddingtons has a few places reserved in order to give interested companies a unique preview of the manufacturing services that will shortly be launched into the market.
The day will provide time and opportunity for direct and one-to-one discussions on helping manufacturers meet their commercial and manufacturing objectives.
